New experiences for young cancer patients
“It was a pleasure to sponsor a yachting experience aboard Adeline’s Sea Moose for 24 young cancer patients, ages 12 to 17, from hospitals across the United States, including Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital, as part of the Annual Sunshine Kids Teen Chicago Getaway,” Brian Urbanowski, president URB, inc. “The Sunshine Kids Foundation is dedicated to children battling cancer and I’m looking forward to their next Chicago Getaway.”
Enjoying a private Chicago Skyline yacht cruise aboard Adeline’s Sea Moose was one of the exciting adventures the kids participated in. Other adventures included visits to Shedd Aquarium and Navy Pier, making pizzas at Lou Malnati’s, experiencing “Blue Man Group” and so much more! Medical volunteers escorted the children participants from their treatment hospitals.
Provided free of charge for the children by The Sunshine Kids Foundation this week-long getaway and a much-needed break from hospital stays will give these kids the chance to enjoy new experiences, make lifelong memories, and most importantly, meet other kids, their same age, who are also battling childhood cancer.
